The missing sessions
Same effort. Same times.
For years.
Your bike got faster with volume. The run too. The swim didn't move, because more of the same stroke locks in the same stroke.
Pedalling harder on a badly fitted bike never made anyone faster. More metres on a bad catch does the same to your swim.
Pool hours, a drive, a lane. Two swims a week, the stroke fades between them, and you spend the first 400 metres finding it again.
Speed in the water is propulsion minus drag. Drag you fix in the pool: body position, rotation, breathing. Propulsion comes from the catch, pull and push, and nothing else in your week trains that movement. Not the bike, not the run, not the gym.
Twenty focused minutes on it do more than two months of the same metres.
“You simply can’t out-fitness a fundamentally inefficient stroke.”
