How ZWIM works

YOUR STROKE CONTROLS THE SESSION

You pull against real resistance. The ZWIM Smart Paddles read the force and efficiency of your stroke and turn it into Propulsive Watts. That number drives your live feedback, your structured sessions and the game.

What you need to ZWIM
The patent-pending ZWIM Smart Paddles, the ZWIM Bench, three Propulsion Bands and a door or a window to anchor your bands.
The sessions, the game, the live data feedback, your history and progress in the app. See what membership unlocks
You can download and use the ZWIM app on iOS or Android. Requires Android 12 or iOS 16.

The ZWIM Smart Trainer is yours to keep, forever. Membership unlocks the full ZWIM Experience.

THE OBVIOUS QUESTION

HOW CAN ZWIM HELP ME IN THE WATER?

In two ways. It keeps the skill from fading, and it builds the swim-specific endurance that holds the technique together.

Limited pool sessions can't build both, and you already know there's no room for more pool trips in your week. ZWIM lets you repeat the underwater propulsion phase at home in 15 to 35 minutes, against real load. So you turn up at the pool with the feel still switched on.

Working the underwater propulsion phase against the Propulsion Bands
Make the stroke stick, so it feels familiar and smooth the next time you're in the water. Instead of starting over each time.
Work the underwater propulsion phase against real load, so your arms don't go before the first 500 metres are done.
Stop swimming blind. Change something in the catch and watch the number respond, while you're still in the session.
The research

IN CASE THIS LOOKS NEW...

Dryland swim training has been in serious swim programmes for decades. Swim benches, pulley systems, band work.

What never existed was a reason to keep going. No number that moved, no session waiting for you, no evidence the last twenty minutes did anything. So the bands went in a cupboard.

ZWIM is built around the same principles. But for the first time, you can measure what the pull is doing while you're doing it.

THE CONNECTED FEEDBACK LOOP

THE STROKE DATA SWIMMING NEVER HAD

Your effort begins on the ZWIM Smart Trainer, against the Propulsion Bands, in the same pattern the water asks for. Catch, high elbow, accelerate through to the push.

They measure force and efficiency of your pull through the underwater propulsion phase.

Your power and efficiency, in one number you can improve in real time.

Adjust the catch and watch the number move. Fix something and you'll know whether it worked inside two strokes.

SWIMMING HAS NEVER HAD A FEEDBACK LOOP. UNTIL NOW.

The Propulsion Bands

THREE LOADS. ONE FOR EVERY KIND OF DAY.

15 minutes on ZWIM can feel like 45 minutes in the water.

Set up and start

From box to training in minutes

Sixty seconds with the built-in speed pump. Nothing to assemble.

Loop the anchor over any closed door. A door handle works for most people. The anchor and loop arrive already attached, so there's nothing to fit and nothing to drill.

The app and the game, on any smartphone or tablet from 2020 onwards. Connect the ZWIM Smart Paddles inside the app via Bluetooth.

A structured session, Free ZWIM or a challenge.

Your stroke controls the connected session.

The setup

How much space do I need?

Enough floor to lie down with your arms out. Set your height for the number — anchor height is the only other thing that moves it.

Your height
150 cm195 cm
ANCHOR ANYWHERE 130 cm 90 cm

130 cm / 4'3"
Propulsion Bands taut Anchor anywhere 90–130 cm
Anchored to

Change resistance: slide further from the anchor for more, closer for less.

Four ways to anchor

Comes with the door anchor and loop. No drilling.
Door
Anchor through the gap, door shut on it.
Window
Same anchor, window latched on it.
Handle
Loop around it, back through itself.
Fixed fitting
Rack, rail or your own hook, if you want one.
No drilling, no fixing, no marks
Inflated in 60 seconds with built-in speed pump
Easy to deflate and store once you are done
Travel-friendly
Fits inside a standard backpack

Bench 35x50x80cm - 14x20x31in. Set up diagonally across a living room or straight down a hallway — you need the length in one clear line, not a dedicated room.

Where ZWIM fits

NOTHING IN YOUR WEEK HAS TO MOVE

Add a focused swim-specific session without another pool trip.
After a session

The session ends. The work stays.

See what you completed, how your effort changed and how it compares with your recent work. Pick up where you left off the next time you ZWIM.

Your SPM, your splits, your propulsive watts, left against right balance. What that twenty minutes actually produced.

Built on six years of learning from ZEN8.Our previous swim trainer has been used by thousands of triathletes, swimmers, surfers, young athletes and coaches.

That is the point. ZWIM gives you more chances to repeat the underwater propulsion phase, build swim-specific strength and stay connected to the stroke between pool days. You take that work back to the water.

No. ZWIM is built for swim-specific training at home.

Four things: the ZWIM Smart Trainer, the ZWIM app, a compatible phone or tablet (iOS 16 / Android 12 or newer) and the ZWIM Membership. The trainer is the physical system. The membership powers the game, workouts, feedback and history.
