It started with a panic attack at 200 metres.
20,000 swimmers and triathletes later, we’re building a category.

ZEN8 → ZWIM

First triathlon. 300 people charging into the water. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t sight. I survived the swim and spent the bike and run wondering if I belonged in the sport.

COVID hit. Charlotte and I lost our jobs the same week. So we built what we’d been wishing existed for years: a swim trainer for home. We called it ZEN8. ZWIM AT HOME™. Two people working from a living room.

Twenty thousand people showed up. Triathletes, swimmers, surfers. They started calling themselves Zwimmers. Six years of stories.

The Zwimmers who made it a habit got faster. The habit was the hard part. They told us that, over and over. So we listened.

ZWIM is what they asked us to build. To make it we sold our home in the French Alps, moved to Lisbon, and went all in. No salary for five years. By the end of 2025 we were broke. In 2026 our seed round closed. Lince Capital first in. Now we’re in Lisbon, deep in R&D and innovation, with a tight crew.

The bigger why

We didn’t build this just for age-group triathletes.

Every endurance sport has a way to train at home, with data, that pulls people back tomorrow. Cyclists have indoor cycling platforms. Runners have their watch and the treadmill. Rowers train on ergs that read every stroke. Swimmers were told to “just swim more.”

We see ZWIM as the bridge between fitness and gaming. The next generation, drawn in by the game and kept by the sport. Hooked early on something that gives back for life.

I know this from both sides. Ice hockey until I was 17. Then years of unhealthy gaming. Triathlon brought me back. A week without sport: the head fogs, the energy drops, the day fights back. A week with it: the head clears, the energy returns, the day works.

What sport gives you is bigger than fitness. The version of you that shows up afterwards is the one we want more people to meet.

Hook a generation on what sport gives back. That’s the bigger why.

Six years in. Twenty thousand Zwimmers behind us. Come be part of what’s next.
